Trek Day 2
So Day 2 of our Trek wasn't any easier. I got a lot more tired a lot more quickly. Plus, we were walking the whole day.
So we woke up in the morning at like... 5:30 because it was bright and we couldn't get any sleep. When we woke up, we received a baby from the "officials." I got a new baby sister. It was a doll by the way. During our breakfast oatmeal, we decided on her name. It was Anti-disestablishment[something]terrorism Isabella/Isabelle Dodini. Haha
After breakfast and gathering our stuff and having family time, we grabbed our cart and began moving again. We walked 12 miles that day. It was originally supposed to be 8 miles, but we were faster than they thought, so they made it longer. (DARN THOSE PEOPLE!)
Anyways, we walked and walked, not doing much of anything else. I was walking in the back talking with Geoff, Rebecca, Trey, and sometimes Hayley when she was with us. After walking for a very long time, we had to stop and go aside because someone from our company's baby died. So we had to bury it and walk away.
Then we continued walking and finally came to our lunch break. It was nice. We had really salty beef jerky, a dinner roll, string cheese, and an apple. It was so delicious after walking so much. While eating, we also talked. It was mostly about our family history, but it just kinda jumped from one topic to another.
After staying there for a very long time, we set off to walking again. As we walked, we got more and more into the trees. Their shade was refreshing. We stopped a few times. Especially before this huge hill. We used momentum to rush upward but were then told to stop. By that time we were all exhausted. Then we realized that they were going to take our guys away!!!! The girls started freaking out because they didn't think they'd be able to go on without the guys. Anyways, so they took them away to give the women the experience what kind of happened during the Mormon Battalion when the men were taken. Then we had a pep talk and got pumped up to pull the carts up the hill. We got up about halfway in our own little groups. Then we formed bigger groups to help pull the wagons up one at a time. IT WAS SO HARD!!!!!!
However, when we got up, we heard the guys at the top singing, and when we made it, they would cheer for us. It felt so great. And as I was going back down the hill to help with the other wagons, one man called out, " I need 30 men to help with the carts!" And ALL of the guys came rushing down to help everyone!!! It was AWESOME! The best! After the carts were pulled up we all got watermelon! Yum!
Then I was about to join in Rebecca's and Tenley's watermelon seed spitting contest when Tenley told me that my sister was having a hard time breathing and was lying down somewhere. I was so worried! So I started walking up to where Tenley pointed out where she was and... well... I'll skip this part because it's kind of personal. Anyways, it was... scary.
ANYWAYS, after watermelon and stuff, our stake president talked with us. And he told us that we still had this HUGE, steep mountain left to go still! Anyways, we eventually climbed the mountain and the top was... amazing. Even though it was really hard for me to get to the top, when I made it, it was... the best. The greatest. The view and the wind felt so good. After a while of resting, we went down the mountain to the other side and finally made it to our camp. We set our things up and had dinner. After that, we had a ho down! It was so much fun! Tiring... but fun! It was awesome. After the ho down, I hung out with my friends, walking around, met Taylor and met up with Emily! We talked then went to the bathroom. etc. IT WAS FUN! Good times...
Of course there's more between and after, but that was the main idea of that day.
And today.... so far... I saw Kung Fu Panda! I went with Rebecca, her sisters, her mom, Taylor, Emily, my sister, and Geoff. It was so fun, and so awesome! It was a funny movie! Then after the movie we just window shopped then came home. It was fun. We're going to play again tomorrow.
