Trek Day 1
OK! So I had the greatest experience ever!
It started last Wednesday. We left to get started on our trek!
Ok, so our bus ride was okay.
Anyways, we got there, and the wind was blowing like crazy up at the mountains!
I got my jacket on and went to get in line for lunch with Hannah and Taylor.
Now, I'm not a big fan of chili, but the chili i got for dinner when we got there was actually really good!
Maybe it was cuz I was so hungry...
Then we gathered our stuff and was assigned to our families.
I found my family in which my "Ma and Pa" were the Dodini's.
Joining us, my "brothers and sisters" were Lamar, Nate, Geoff, Trey, Tenley, Hayley, Rebecca, and myself.
After introducing ourselves a bit and warming each other up, we started walking with our huge handcart to the camp.
It was pretty cool walking in the dark with a handcart.
We all kept tripping over rocks a whole bunch of times though!
Haha! We even made a game of it!
Whoever tripped over the most rocks would get a point.
If you tripped and got some ground, then you would get... 3 points or something.
And if you get a scrape, start bleeding, or get a bruise, then you get 5 points.
So yeah, that was fun.
We also sang songs and talked while walking.
I think we walked four miles that night, but it might've been more. Possibly.
Our family almost got lost. Haha!
When we got to our camp, it was as windy as ever.
We got our tarp (no tent) set up, layed out our sleeping bag, had a devotional, prayer, and talked a bit before going to sleep.
It was soooooo hard to sleep that night!
The wind was blowing so hard!
I heard that someone prayed that the wind would stop.
And it did.
But then it started raining.
So they prayed that the rain would stop.
And it did.
Then it started hailing!
So they prayed that that would stop.
And it did.
Then the wind came back.
That was day 1 of our journey.
